The ‘outward-bound’ elements of the Camp Coconut activity centre will comprise various individual pieces of climbing and endurance apparatus. They can be used individually or as part of a 1-3 hour activity program that would be developed to bring out certain skills and aptitudes from each of the children.
Most of the apparatus would be ‘eco-friendly’ and made out of indigenous coconut poles, local hemp ropes and coconut ‘coir’ matting. The building of each facility would also provide much-needed work for local carpenters and labourers.
NB. We are mindful of the fact that such facilities need to be built well and utilise the safest of materials and construction techniques. As such, we shall be working with outdoor adventure specialists to ensure our facility is both challenging AND safe.
