Support A Project
By definition, Camp Coconut will need to be an evolving project, comprising a series of project developments as and when funding is received. Our foremost daily task will be to look after young children, many of whom have been traumatised by recent events, and provide for them a happy fun-filled time through the availability of activities and opportunities to learn. We have employed a small dedicated team of people to help us achieve this.
However, we do have a ‘grand vision’ for Camp Coconut over the long term.
We want to create an activity-filled environment which will both entertain and provide a learning experience for these children. We want them to feel confident about themselves and their abilities and also to provide them with skills which inevitably will help them to get jobs at the end of their education and a better chance in life.
In addition to a range of sports activities and coaching clinics, we intend to create an ‘outward-bound’-type area where children can practise leadership skills and teamwork and build their confidence as a result. We also intend to introduce a range of short tuition courses and workshops in subjects such as English, PC Introduction, Drama and Art.
